According to data from the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (Unica), 1.11 million tons of sugarcane were squeezed in the central and southern regions of Brazil in the first half of January, an increase of 152.34% year-on-year; Sugar production reached 48000 tons, an increase of 148.63% year-on-year; Ethanol production increased by 62.41% year-on-year to 338 million liters. The sugar factory uses 34.16% of sugarcane to produce sugar, compared to 35.34% during the same period of the upper pressing season.
As of January 16th, there were 25 unreleased sugar mills in central and southern Brazil during the 23/24 crushing season, compared to 16 in the same period last year.
As of January 1st, the 23/24 crushing season in the central and southern regions has cumulatively squeezed 645.4 million tons of sugarcane, an increase of 18.89% year-on-year. The cumulative sugar production is 42.099 million tons, an increase of 25.49% year-on-year, and the cumulative ethanol production is 31.792 billion liters, an increase of 14.79% year-on-year; The sugar factory uses 49.06% sugarcane proportion to produce sugar, which is 45.95% during the same period of the upper pressing season.
